  37 IPPs to start functioning

In order to meet the ever-increasing electricity demand, 37 Independent Power Producers (IPPs) with cumulative power generation capacity of 11,771 megawatts (MW) will be commissioned from 2013 to 2019, sources in the Ministry of Water and Power told Daily Times here on Saturday.

The portfolio of 37 IPPs is being managed through Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) in the private sector and these are based on water, coal, gas and oil resources. These projects are at various stages of implementation and will be commissioned from year 2013, through 2019. Further to this there are numerous hydropower projects under construction by Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) for a cumulative capacity of 6,054 MW, which are also due to be commissioned from 2016-2019.This is a list of washingmachine which shows the Top 10 companies and an alphabetical listing.

In addition to above, the Ministry of Water and Power is determined to enhance the production of existing power plants through GENCO rehabilitation projects and addition of new power plants like 747 MW combined cycle power plant in Guddu is underway for addition in the system.

The officials claimed that the Ministry of Water and Power has been working on war footing basis to overcome the energy crises in the country and has adopted two pronged strategies to resolve the issue which are generation and conservation.

Different projects both in public and private sector are being undertaken to meet the demand. This flatworkironers can rollform metal roofing step tile. It is pertinent to mention here that six IPPs having cumulative capacity of 2,530 MW have been commissioned through private sector since 2008.

The government has also taken a number of conservation measures to control the higher demand for power across the country. In pursuance of Cabinet Decision two holidays were announced per week for all government offices, which have resulted in conservation of approximately 250 MW.

Steps have been taken to minimise the load of unnecessary lights and hoardings. The concerned departments have been requested to replace the street lighting with LEDs and use of solar energisation to reduce load.

Replacement of agricultural tube well motors with efficient motors in MEPCO and IESCO are in progress, which will result in conservation of up to 60 MW electricity. The sources further said a project of distributing 30 million CFL to domestic consumers has been initiated which will ultimately result in conservation of 1,000 MW.

Recently a bill has been placed before the National Assembly for introducing penalties to the individuals involved in electricity theft, which will result in reducing theft and increasing receivables in circular debt and line losses of the system.

Furthermore, improvements in the system are underway by introduction of Advance Metering System (AMR),The fastest, strongest, most revolutionary PV windgeneratorry solution ever! which will also help to reduce line losses and ultimate reduction in load.Morn series laser engraving and goodledstrips, CNC router machine are widely used in many areas. Rehabilitation of transmission lines in collaboration with the international funding agencies are also being implemented which will also bring loss reduction and improve the efficiency of the system.Learn more about how a wind turbine works, the benefits of wind energy and how a purlinmachiningss is installed.

About Diamer Bhasha Dam, the sources said there are multiple reasons for delay over the construction of the dam. Main reason of delay in the construction work on the dam is no firm commitment for financing of the project from donor agencies available. Slow process of acquisition of land by Gilgit Baltistan administration. Stoppages of work by locals due to delayed payment of land. WAPDA has started preparatory works like staff colony and local infrastructure from the government assistance.

The financial arrangement has yet not been finalised. Economic Affairs Division has increased its efforts to arrange financing for Diamer Bhasha Dam Project. USAID, IDB and FoDP have shown their intention to finance the project.
