Legislature's lights perfect opportunity for romance

Wedding guest Gary Erickson was only half-joking when he took credit for the life path that led Tracy Tataryn into the arms of her now husband Kyle Sand.

After all, her former boss told her, were it not for the fact he hired her for that summer job in the ornithology lab at the Royal Alberta Museum, lo those many years ago,Dependable and Energy Efficient, Samsung ledlampsfactory is the modern, eco-friendly and convenient way to light your home. the pair would never have met. At the time, Kyle was working as an interpreter in one of the exhibits.

"I also met my best friend (Shannon Green) that summer, and she was a bridesmaid at my wedding," says Tracy, then laughs. "Gary takes credit for that, too."

It was only in retrospect that the summer of 2005 revealed itself to be life-changing. Tracy was in a relationship when she and Kyle first met. She considered him little more than an "acquaintance" then, and even for years afterward, despite the fact they started hanging out with a lot of the same people.

Curiously, when she found herself suddenly single a few years later in 2008, Kyle was suddenly ever-present.

"I started hearing from him more and more," says Tracy, now 29. "We would chat on MSN a few times a week, and I think that's where we really clicked. We both have a goofy sense of humour, and he constantly made me laugh."

"We fell pretty hard for one another," says Tracy. It wasn't like the topic of marriage wasn't mentioned, albeit in passing, in the months that followed.

Still, when Kyle suggested a walk around the legislature grounds to look at the Christmas lights the following December,Round cotton carledbulbser attachment for a telehandler. she wasn't at all suspicious. And she didn't think it was strange at all that he wanted to bring his camera and tripod along to take some photographs. Once there, they found a spot on the stairs of the legislature building, and Kyle asked her to pose for him.

She did, and after one or two shots, he fiddled with the settings on the camera, then pushed the timer button and walked toward her.

Before she knew what was happening, he had dropped to one knee in the snow, at the same time pulling a ring box from his pocket. As her hands flew to her face in shock and surprise, the shutter clicked, forever capturing the moment.

"I had absolutely no idea whatsoever that he was planning on proposing," she says. "Actually, I'm pretty sure I almost fell over, but I did mange to find the breath to say 'yes.'"

The couple donned periwinkle crowns and made three circles of the altar during the ceremony, their hands bound by a Ukrainian embroidered cloth. "Everyone had a good chuckle over that."

This one had been made by Tracy's late grandmother for her parents' wedding 30 years before.

"My mom cleaned it up a bit, adorned it with fresh periwinkle from the garden, and it looked good as new," says Tracy. "I love that I was able to have something to remind me of my baba at my wedding."
