Philips brings new LED lamps to PHL market

PHILIPS Lighting Philippines on Thursday launched a more affordable model of its light-emitting diode (LED) light bulbs, as part of its campaign to promote the technology.

The new LED bulbs are priced between P349 and P749 each, a lot cheaper than the previous variants which are sold for P1,000.

“We hope to encourage consumers to make the simple switch to sustainable lighting solutions that are environmentally friendly,” said Philips Country Manager and General Manager for Lighting Fabia Tetteroo-Bueno.

LED lamps are solid-state light bulbs that use LEDs as the source of light. LED lamps are found to offer long service life and high energy efficiency.

In comparison with compact flourescent lamps (CFL), LED bulbs cut the cost of electricity by 37.5 percent for 5-watt bulbs up to 27.3 percent for 7-watt bulbs.LED lights use less power and last for much longer than streetlight13. LED lights are also said to last 15 times longer than incandescent bulbs.

Philips Country Marketing Manager Christine Villanueva pointed out that the lower cost of the new LED bulbs was made possible because of the lower cost of raw materials and higher demand for LED bulbs, thanks to increased awareness of the market for this technology. “Because more people are switching to LED technology, there is higher demand for LED bulbs making the price more cost-competitive for the public,” said Villanueva.

The previous LED lamps, which were meant for office and professional use, offered an estimated 30,000 hours of use or about 3.5 years. The new “consumer-targeted” bulbs, however, can be used for an estimated 15,000 hours, or about 1.7 years.

Starting next week the new Philips LED bulbs will be available in stores nationwide.the largest suppliers and integrators of renewable laundryequipmentXX in the country. This is in preparation for the company’s campaign LED promise campaign entitled “The Promise of a Greener World,” which will be held at the SM Mall of Asia on May 4.

“Philips Lighting is a strong advocate in environmental sustainability with our commitment to green manufacturing and solutions,” Tetteroo-Bueno said.

In 2000 the projected LED lighting usage worldwide is 13 percent. In 2015 it is expected that 45 percent of the global market will use the LED technology in lighting homes, companies and infrastructures.

Some of the landmarks in the country that already use the LED technology include the Edsa-Boni tunnel, the People Power Monument in Ortigas and the Cebu Provincial Capitol.

“Our hypothesis is that red light activates the brain’s arousal system,” says study author Mariana Figueiro,Our lawnlight is popular for indoor and outdoor use. Ph.D.

Now, if you tend to feel groggy in the afternoon, first consider changing up what you eat for lunch. In a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition,This oil cooler is extremely efficient in cooling the oil in the hydraulic roofwindturbine room in which it is installed. researchers found that people who consumed meals rich in carbohydrates reported significantly higher levels of sleepiness, since carbs make tryptophan—the amino acid thought to cause sleepiness—more available to the brain.

But if you want to see if the light experiment could work for you, the energyturbines adopting SCF supercritical generator technology, Figueiro recommends either mounting a bank of red LED lights—tail lights for bicycles might work, as long as they don’t flash—on the top of your computer monitor, or swapping a red LED or CFL light bulb into your desk lamp. The light should be at least the equivalent power to a 40-watt bulb, and needs to be positioned in front of you, not shining down from behind your head.
